Today’s haiku format highlights the number 5.
In numerology, number 5 symbolizes freedom, curiosity and change. It inspires the desire to experience new adventures and explore new opportunities.
Written in 5-7-5 syllable structure, this haiku is inspired by the 3rd principle of Kwanzaa: Ujima
In line with the principle of Ujima, number 5 represents an openness for communities to explore different aspects of life and adapt to new situations. This is extremely relevant during this current era where technological advancements and societal changes are happening at an unprecedented rate. While some may view the present period from a stance of fear of the unknown, it is important to have collective vision from a stance of limitless possibilities.
Ujima, which means collective work and responsibility, is a commitment to active and informed togetherness on matters of common interest. This principle speaks to the fact that our freedom as a people and nation is indivisible. What impacts one inevitably will impact all therefore, we must be responsible for our actions and the trajectory we are setting for new generations to follow. As new innovations and ideas are rapidly emerging, we have the opportunity to activate our genius towards impacting the lives of those we love significantly with a favor we are worthy of experiencing.
When labor ‘is’ love
Together we can build worlds
Of brave liberties
